Corsa Specialised Vehicles (CSV), an Australian automaker founded in 1994 by Peter Dichiera in Mildura, Victoria, carved a niche in the high-performance car segment with V8 engines primarily derived from Holden models. Known as the “Mildura Maverick,” Dichiera propelled CSV from modifying existing Holden vehicles to securing its status as a secondary manufacturer under Australian Design Rules in 1996. CSV’s initial fame sprouted from the Corsa 220i, a high-performance sedan launched in 1994, which quickly earned its stripes in performance circles. The company expanded its range with models like Volanti, Strada, Veloce, La Classe, and Mondo, featuring enhanced engines, upgraded suspensions, and bespoke interiors. Over the years, CSV’s notable achievements include producing Australia’s fastest accelerating production car in 2000 with the CSV Veloce. However, despite these successes, CSV eventually closed its Melbourne operations but maintains a presence in Perth, operating as CSV Australia.
