Diatto, a historical Italian car brand, was founded in Turin in 1835 by Guglielmo Diatto, originally as a carriage manufacturer. The transition to automotive production was spearheaded by his descendants, who launched the company’s first car, the Diatto-Clement, in 1905. This vehicle set a precedent for Diatto’s future involvement in racing and luxury automotive manufacturing.

During its early years, Diatto gained fame for its engineering prowess, notably in the production of aviation engines and advanced car designs featuring 8-cylinder supercharged engines. However, by the mid-20th century, the company had shifted focus solely to spare parts before ceasing operations in 1955.

In 2007, the Diatto name was revived for its centennial through a partnership with Zagato, unveiling the Diatto Ottovù, a modern sports car, at the Geneva Motor Show. This revival aimed to celebrate Diatto’s storied heritage in luxury and performance, though the brand’s activities have remained limited since this resurgence.
