Evante

Information about Evante

The Evante is a quintessentially British marque, born from the passion of George Walter Robinson and his company, Vegantune, initially known for tuning and restoring Lotus Elan cars. The company ventured into manufacturing with the Evante, a sports car inspired by the Lotus Elan, featuring a fiberglass body and a space frame chassis. First rolling out in 1987, the car was crafted in Spalding, Lincolnshire, with a heart of Vegantune engines and later models powered by Ford Zetec engines. Despite its promising start, Evante’s journey was short-lived; production halted in 1991 due to financial difficulties. Briefly revived in the late ’90s by Fleur de Lys for a small run, the Evante legacy remains a tale of ambition and unfulfilled potential in the automotive world.
