Pan-Car, a Greek venture in the automotive sector, was founded by Panayiotis Caravisopoulos in 1968. The company initially focused on producing three-wheeled trucks with Volkswagen engines. By 1977, Pan-Car expanded its repertoire by introducing beach buggy models, which also utilized Volkswagen chassis. The brand took a bold step in 1992 with the introduction of a jeep-type vehicle, yet faced significant challenges including type certification and financial hurdles. Despite these innovative expansions, Pan-Car ceased operations in 1994 due to ongoing financial difficulties and inability to secure necessary certifications for its models. This brief history highlights Pan-Car’s ambitious but ultimately unsustainable venture into the automotive industry.
