Rinspeed, a Swiss automotive brand, was established in 1979 by Frank M. Rinderknecht, a visionary in mobility and automotive innovation. Starting with enhancements and imports of sunroofs, Rinspeed quickly gained recognition at the Geneva Motor Show with its modified VW Golf Turbo. The brand is known for its creativity and pioneering efforts in automotive design, often showcased through its unique concept cars.

Among its many innovative creations, the Rinspeed sQuba stands out. Launched in 2008, the sQuba is the world’s first car capable of driving underwater, inspired by the amphibious car featured in the James Bond film “The Spy Who Loved Me.” Built around the Lotus Elise chassis, the sQuba is a zero-emission vehicle that can submerge to a depth of 10 meters using electric-powered propellers and water jets.

Today, Rinspeed continues to push the boundaries of automotive technology and design. Its focus has expanded to include sustainable and modular vehicle concepts, such as the Rinspeed Snap and MetroSnap, which propose solutions for urban mobility and logistics. Through these innovations, Rinspeed maintains its status as a leader in conceptual automotive advances, blending functionality with futuristic design.
