Established in 1966, the Société Anonyme Iranienne de Production Automobile, better known as SAIPA, is a significant player in Iran’s automotive industry. SAIPA began by assembling the two-cylinder Citroën Dyane and quickly moved on to manufacturing licensed versions of renowned models such as the Renault 5 and Kia Pride. These initial endeavors set the stage for SAIPA’s evolution in the auto manufacturing world.

As the years progressed, SAIPA expanded its product range. In 2000, the company launched its own original design, the 701 Caravan minivan, marking a pivotal shift from assembly to innovation. The acquisition of 51% of Pars Khodro that same year further solidified its market position, enabling the production of additional models under various subsidiary brands.

In the current automotive landscape, SAIPA has continued to adapt and grow despite challenges. Recent years have seen the introduction of models like the Saipa Quick and the modern Saipa Shahin in 2019, which demonstrate SAIPA’s ongoing commitment to innovation and market expansion. These models, along with strategic partnerships and a strong domestic presence, underscore SAIPA’s resilience and adaptability in a competitive industry.
