The Toyota LiteAce and TownAce are a series of light commercial and passenger vans manufactured by Toyota. Originally featuring a cab-over-engine layout, the design was shifted to a semi-cab-over configuration in 1996. The LiteAce was introduced in 1970 as a light-duty truck and expanded to include commercial and van/wagon versions by 1971. In 1976, Toyota launched the larger TownAce van/wagon, which was based on the LiteAce platform. A TownAce truck model followed in 1978. From 1982 to 1992, the line incorporated the MasterAce Surf, a more upscale variant of the TownAce passenger wagon.
