Vanderhall Motor Works, a distinctive American manufacturer based in Provo, Utah, has carved out a niche in the automotive industry with its innovative three-wheeled vehicles. Founded in 2010 by Steve Hall, a former CAD designer, the company took a methodical approach to vehicle design. Hall spent five years refining his prototypes before introducing the Laguna, the company’s first model. This three-wheeled roadster, legally classified as a motorcycle, boasts a turbocharged 1.4-liter engine and a six-speed automatic transmission, blending the open-air thrill of a motorcycle with the stability of a car.

Since the launch of the Laguna, Vanderhall has expanded its lineup significantly. In 2017, they introduced the Venice, a lighter and more accessible model that adheres to the brand’s ethos of blending retro charm with modern technology. Following the success of the Venice, the company ventured into luxury territory with the Carmel in 2019. Positioned above the Venice, the Carmel offers enhanced features like leather interiors and advanced driving aids, aiming at a more premium market segment.

Vanderhall’s recent forays into electric vehicles, including the Edison 2, an electric iteration of the Venice, underscore their commitment to innovation. Despite facing challenges, such as unsuccessful domain name disputes, Vanderhall continues to push the boundaries of three-wheeled vehicle design, promising an intriguing blend of past inspirations and futuristic ambitions.
