The Volkswagen Polo Mk4 is the fourth iteration of the Volkswagen Polo compact car series, manufactured by Volkswagen from early 2002 to 2010 in most countries worldwide, except Argentina and the USA. It succeeded the Mk3 and was eventually replaced by the Mk5 Polo Vivo in 2018. In South Africa, the Mk4 was produced until 2017, where it was rebranded and continued as the Polo Vivo. In Brazil, the Mk4 was produced until 2014 with a final facelift named 9n4, and it was succeeded by the Volkswagen Polo Mk6 in 2017. The Polo Vivo took over from the Mk4 in markets where it was sold, as the successor to the iconic Citi Golf.
