Acura Integra DA5

1989 – 1993 · Japan

The fourth-generation Honda Integra, known as the Acura RSX in North America, was introduced in Japan on April 13, 2001, and produced from July 2001 to August 2006. It was part of Acura's shift towards alphanumeric names, moving away from recognizable names like "Integra" to enhance brand recognition. Key Points: 1. Chassis and Drivetrain: The DC5 Integra adopted MacPherson struts in the front and trailing arm suspension in the rear, departing from the traditional double wishbone setup. It also featured the new K-series engine, replacing the B-series engine. The K-series engine included intelligent VTEC (i-VTEC) technology, allowing for electronic adjustments to valve lift, duration, and timing. This technology resulted in a smoother torque curve compared to previous VTEC systems. 2. Facelift: In 2004 (MY2005), the Integra received a facelift. While specific details of the facelift are not provided, it likely included updates to the exterior and interior aesthetics, possibly refining the design and incorporating new features to keep the model fresh and competitive. Overall, the fourth-generation Honda Integra (DC5) or Acura RSX served as a modern and technologically advanced vehicle during its production run. It embraced new engineering advancements like the K-series engine and intelligent VTEC, offering a blend of performance and efficiency. The facelift in 200
