Aston Martin DB2

1950 – 1953

The Aston Martin DB2 is a British grand touring sports car produced from 1950 to 1953, representing a significant step forward for the newly reorganized Aston Martin company under David Brown's ownership. It was powered by a twin-cam 2.6-litre straight-six engine developed in collaboration with Lagonda, producing around 105 bhp in standard form, with a higher-output Vantage tune available from the outset. The DB2 established the template of elegant, lightweight coachwork combined with a capable chassis that would define Aston Martin's character for decades. Notable variants include the Vantage-spec cars with increased output and the later DB2/4, which introduced a more practical two-plus-two body with a hatchback-style rear opening, though the DB2/4 is formally considered a separate model.
