Aston Martin V8

1969 – 1989

The Aston Martin V8 is a British grand touring coupe produced from 1969 to 1989, making it one of the longest continuous production runs in the marque's history. It evolved from the DBS platform and was powered by a Tadek Marek-designed 5.3-litre V8 engine, which remained a defining constant across its two-decade lifespan despite ongoing development and refinement. The model is particularly associated with performance credibility through the Vantage variant, introduced in 1977, which used a high-output version of the same V8 and was among the fastest production cars of its era. The Volante convertible body style also became a significant part of the lineup, attracting a clientele that valued open-air grand touring alongside the coupe's established reputation.
