The V8 Volante brought open-top motoring to the Vantage lineup, pairing a manually operated fabric roof with a 400-horsepower version of the 5.3-litre V8 and 529 Nm of torque. Matching the coupe's 5.4-second 0-100 km/h time despite the added structural reinforcement required by the convertible body, it demonstrated that the Volante was a genuine performance variant rather than a softer alternative. Rear-wheel drive and a manual transmission were standard throughout its production.
