Audi A8 D2

1994 – 2002

The Audi A8 is a renowned full-size luxury sedan introduced by German automaker Audi in 1994. Now in its fourth generation, the A8 succeeds the Audi V8 and is available in both front- and permanent all-wheel drive configurations as well as short- and long-wheelbase options. The car initially utilized the Volkswagen Group D platform in its first two generations, transitioning to the MLB platform for the current iteration. Audi launched the second generation of the A8 in late 2002, followed by the third generation in late 2009, and the fourth and latest version in 2017. A significant milestone for the A8 was its distinction as the first mass-market vehicle featuring an aluminium chassis, with all models since the original release adopting this innovative construction technology known as the Audi Space Frame, which was co-developed with Alcoa.
