The Audi Q5 is a compact luxury crossover SUV line produced by Audi since 2008. The first-generation model, known as the Typ 8R, was released after the Audi A5 and A4 and based on the Audi MLB platform. In 2018, the second generation (Typ 80A) Q5 debuted, sharing the Audi MLB Evo platform with the B9 versions of the A4 and A5. A concept vehicle previewing the Q5 featured a 2-door convertible design with a powerful 3.0 TDI engine delivering 240 PS of power and 500 N⋅m of torque, alongside quattro permanent 4-wheel drive and an 8-speed automatic transmission. Notable features included a striking Copper Sunset body color, LED headlights, 21-inch wheels with 265/35R21 tires, luxurious White Stone leather upholstery, MMI infotainment system, a 505W Bang & Olufsen sound system with internet radio, CDC shock absorbers, electric ride height adjustment, and high-performance ceramic brakes. This concept vehicle was showcased at the 2007 Los Angeles Auto Show, highlighting Audi's cutting-edge technology, performance capabilities, and premium design elements. The Q5 series embodies Audi's commitment to blending luxury, innovation, and performance in the competitive compact luxury SUV market.
