The Audi Q5 is a luxurious compact crossover SUV, first introduced by German car manufacturer Audi in 2008. It belongs to the B8 car family and is built on the Audi MLB platform. The original first-generation model, known as Typ 8R, followed the releases of the Audi A5 and the fourth-generation A4. The second-generation Audi Q5, known as Typ 80A, made its debut in 2018. This newer model shares the Audi MLB Evo platform with the updated versions of the A4 and A5 from the B9 series. One notable concept vehicle related to the Audi Q5 was showcased prior to its release. It was a 2-door convertible powered by a 3.0 TDI engine producing 240 PS and offering 500 Nm of torque. The vehicle featured quattro permanent four-wheel drive, an 8-speed automatic transmission, eye-catching Copper Sunset body color, LED headlights, 21-inch wheels with 265/35R21 tires, White Stone leather upholstery, MMI interface, Bang & Olufsen sound system, internet radio, CDC shock absorbers, electric ride height adjustment, and front/rear ceramic brake discs with powerful calipers. Additionally, the Audi Drive Select system provided customization for the driving experience. This concept vehicle was unveiled at the 2007 Los Angeles Auto Show, giving a glimpse of the luxury and performance features that Audi was planning to incorporate into the upcoming Q5 model.
