The ActiveHybrid 3 was BMW's full hybrid sedan variant for the F30 generation, combining a TwinPower Turbo inline-six petrol engine with an integrated electric motor for 340 hp and 450 Nm of system torque, achieving 0-100 km/h in 5.3 seconds. Drive went to the rear wheels through an automatic transmission, and the hybrid system allowed limited electric-only operation at lower speeds. It preceded the 330e plug-in hybrid and was discontinued in 2016 as BMW shifted its electrification strategy toward plug-in architecture.
