The ActiveHybrid 7 in long-wheelbase F02 form paired a twin-turbocharged 4.4-litre V8 with an electric motor to produce a combined 465 hp and 700 Nm of torque, reaching 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds while returning improved fuel economy over the conventional 750Li. It represented BMW's first series-production hybrid application in the 7 Series, using a mild-hybrid architecture with a belt-integrated starter-generator. Production ran from 2008 to 2012, after which a revised system replaced it.
