The 120d Steptronic xDrive carries the same 190 hp and 400 Nm diesel drivetrain as the rear-wheel-drive 120d but adds BMW's xDrive all-wheel-drive system, trimming 0 to 100 km/h to 6.8 seconds. It is one of the few F20 variants to offer all-wheel drive, expanding traction in adverse conditions without altering the engine specification. The xDrive system distributes torque between axles as needed, adding capability at the cost of a modest weight increase.
