The original M135i xDrive brought 320 hp from a turbocharged 3.0-litre inline-six to the three-door F21 body, paired with BMW's xDrive all-wheel-drive system and an automatic gearbox for a 4.7-second 0-100 km/h sprint. With 450 Nm of torque on tap, it established the M Performance credentials of the F21 range from the outset. It was among the most potent hot hatches available at its launch, competing directly with cars like the Mercedes-Benz A 45 AMG.
