BMW›iX3›G08

The BMW X3 is a popular SUV that has been in production since 2003. It is currently in its third generation and is based on the BMW 3 Series platform. BMW markets the X3 as a Sports Activity Vehicle, which is their own term for the luxury X-line vehicles. The first-generation X3 was a collaboration between BMW and Magna Steyr in Graz, Austria, where all X3s were manufactured under contract to BMW. The second generation was produced at BMW's plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina. With the third generation, BMW South Africa's Rosslyn plant also started manufacturing the X3 alongside the Spartanburg plant, after a significant upgrade to the facility. The Rosslyn plant is now expected to produce about 76,000 units annually, marking a shift from the long-running 3 Series production to X3 production at the facility. Key points: 1.
