The BMW X3 is a popular SUV model produced by BMW since 2003. It is now in its third generation and is classified as a Sports Activity Vehicle within BMW's lineup of luxury X-line vehicles. The first-generation X3 was a collaborative effort between BMW and Magna Steyr in Austria, with Magna Steyr responsible for manufacturing all X3 units for BMW. The second generation of the X3 was produced at BMW's Spartanburg plant in South Carolina, United States. With the third generation, production of the X3 expanded to BMW South Africa's Rosslyn plant, in addition to the Spartanburg facility.
