The former Borgward car manufacturing company, founded by Carl F. W. Borgward in Bremen, Germany, was known for producing cars under four different brands: Borgward, Hansa, Goliath, and Lloyd. The company catered to a diverse international customer base with models like Borgward's Isabella, a popular premium model in the 1950s, and Lloyd's Alexander / Lloyd 600, which provided affordable mobility to working-class motorists. Despite its success, the group faced financial difficulties and ultimately ceased operations in 1961 after controversial insolvency proceedings. In the 21st century, the Borgward brand was revived by the Borgward Group AG, based in Stuttgart, Germany, which focused on designing and marketing cars
