The Bugatti Type 55 is a sporty roadster that was manufactured by Bugatti from 1932 to 1935, serving as a road-friendly version of the Type 51 Grand Prix car. Featuring a wheelbase of 108.3 inches (2750 mm) and weighing in at 1800 pounds (816 kg), the Type 55 blended performance and style. Launched at the 1931 Paris Motor Show, the Type 55 made an impression from the start. The first model, chassis 55201, was sold to the Duke of Tremoille, cementing its aristocratic appeal. Production commenced in 1932 and continued until 1935, with the final vehicle being handed over on July 30
