The Buick Park Avenue is a full-size car initially introduced as an appearance option package on the Electra 225 Limited in 1975. It later evolved into its own trim level in 1978 before becoming a standalone model in 1991 following the discontinuation of the Electra. The Park Avenue experienced two generations in the United States until production ceased in 2005.
In 2007, the Park Avenue nameplate resurfaced on a large sedan manufactured by Shanghai GM specifically for the Chinese market. This new iteration of the Park Avenue was based on the Holden Caprice from the WM/WN range, highlighting Buick's commitment to catering to the needs and preferences of the Chinese consumer base.
