The Corolla E90 was launched in 1987 by Toyota as the sixth generation of vehicles under the Corolla series, available for purchase in 1988. It marked a significant shift as the last Corolla generation classified as a subcompact car, completely transitioning to front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive configurations, eliminating the rear-wheel drive option for better performance. The vehicle was well-received for its updated design and improved drivetrain features. For international markets, the Corolla E90 offered a range of trim levels including Base, XL, GL, SE, and SE Limited. The GT-i variant, also known as the SX Seca and Hatch in Australia, stood out as a high-performance model powered by the 4A-GE engine
