1986 – 1996

The Chrysler LeBaron, originally known as the Imperial LeBaron, is a distinguished line of automobiles crafted by Chrysler spanning from 1931 to 1941 and from 1955 to 1995. Initially introduced in 1931 with a body produced by LeBaron, it positioned itself within the luxury car segment rivaled by the likes of Lincoln and Packard. In 1955, Chrysler acquired LeBaron alongside its parent company, Briggs Manufacturing, leading to the inception of the upscale Imperial line. This marked the era of Imperial LeBaron cars until 1975 when Chrysler decided to discontinue the Imperial brand but reincarnated the Chrysler LeBaron in 1977 as their most affordable model at the time. The LeBaron name has been attached to five distinct car models developed by Chrysler: 1. 1977–1981 M-body (mid-size) LeBaron: available as a sedan, coupe, and wagon 2. 1982–1988 K-body (mid-size) LeBaron: offered in sedan, coupe, convertible, and wagon variations 3. 1985–1989 H-body (mid-size) LeBaron GTS: presented as a hatchback model 4. 1987–1995 J-body (personal luxury) LeBaron: produced as a coupe and convertible 5. 1990–1994 AA-body (mid-size) LeBaron: designed as a sedan
