The Citroën AX, a supermini produced by French manufacturer Citroën, was in production from 1986 to 1998. This model was designed to replace the Citroën Visa and Citroën LNA and made its debut at the 1986 Paris Motor Show. Development of the Citroën AX started in 1983, with initial plans to also create a sister model for Talbot to replace the Samba. However, due to declining popularity of the Talbot brand and the success of the Peugeot 205, the Talbot version never came to fruition.
