The De Tomaso Vallelunga is a significant mid-engine sports car that was in production from 1964 to 1967. Considered the first road-going car made by De Tomaso, it showcased innovative design elements for its time. The prototype featured a backbone chassis with a stressed member engine and formula car suspension, all enclosed in a barchetta body crafted in Modena. The car was originally named the Vallelunga 1500 in honor of the Autodromo di Vallelunga racing circuit.
