Enfield-Alldays

Enfield-Allday Motors, an emblematic British car manufacturer, originated from a fusion of automotive endeavors, including the established Alldays & Onions and the short-lived Enfield Autocar Company. Born in the bustling industrial heart of Birmingham, Enfield-Allday emerged in the early 20th century, notably after the acquisition of Enfield Autocar in 1908. This merger marked the beginning of a challenging yet innovative journey in the automotive world. The brand's most iconic venture was perhaps the development of the Enfield-Allday 10/20 hp car. This vehicle, designed under the new leadership of A.W. Reeves in the post-war era, was an attempt to redefine automotive engineering with its unconventional radial engine and ambitious design. However, despite the innovative spirit, the car struggled commercially, reflecting the tough economic climate of the 1920s. The company's existence was a turbulent one, marked by bold designs and financial instability. By 1925, the production under the Enfield-Allday name had ceased, succumbing to economic pressures and evolving market demands. Today, the legacy of Enfield-Allday serves as a poignant chapter in the rich tapestry of Britain's industrial and automotive history, reminding us of a time when the drive for innovation often came with substantial risks and challenges.
