The Ford Focus, a compact car produced by Ford Motor Company starting in 1999, falls under the C-segment classification in Europe. The vehicle was a key component of the Ford 2000 plan established by Alexander Trotman, which aimed to streamline model development and introduce a single compact car globally. The original Focus was a collaborative effort by Ford of Europe's teams in Germany and the UK. The car's production journey led to the launch of the fourth generation in 2018, with manufacturing taking place in both Germany and China. Signifying a shift in Ford's strategy, the decision to name the new car the "Ford Focus" was finalized in 1998. This move steered away from continuing the "Escort" nameplate
