Ford Performance Vehicles (FPV) represents the pinnacle of Ford Australia's dedication to high-performance cars, an exciting chapter built upon a legacy of automotive excellence. Originally established in 2002 as a joint venture between Ford Australia and Prodrive, FPV took the reins from Ford Tickford Experience (FTE) in crafting vehicles that pushed the boundaries of speed and power, designed specifically for enthusiasts. The brand's historical roots trace back to the iconic models like the Ford Falcon, which was heavily modified to enhance performance, showcasing FPV's commitment to superior engineering. The FPV F6 Typhoon and the supercharged V8-powered FPV GT are perfect examples of how FPV cars blend everyday usability with thrilling sports capabilities, creating a unique niche in the Australian automotive market. Today, despite the cessation of manufacturing in 2014 due to Ford Australia's exit from local production, FPV's legacy endures through the high regard in which its vehicles are still held. These cars remain highly sought after on the secondary market, celebrated for their robust performance and distinctive character, solidifying FPV's enduring impact on Australia's automotive landscape.
