The sixth generation of the Ford Taurus was the final iteration of the model produced by Ford for markets outside of China and the Middle East. Launched in 2010, this generation marked the model's shift to being a full-size car and was the heaviest sedan in Ford's lineup globally. Despite sharing its D3 chassis with the previous generation, the sixth generation introduced the Kinetic Design language to North American markets. Notably, with the discontinuation of the Mercury brand, there was no Mercury Sable counterpart to the Taurus for the first time during this generation.
