Ford Transit Connect 1st Gen

2002 – 2024

The Ford Transit Connect is a compact panel van manufactured by Ford since 2002. Developed by Ford of Europe, it replaced sedan-based vans with a dedicated commercial vehicle platform. Positioned as the second-smallest vehicle in the Ford Transit range, it falls between the Ford Transit Courier LAV and the Ford Transit Custom LCV/MPV. In Europe, passenger-oriented models are marketed as the Ford Tourneo Connect with side windows and rear seats. For the North American market, the Transit Connect was introduced in 2010. Due to the 25% "chicken tax" on imported light trucks, all models were imported as passenger vans and converted into cargo vans after importation. This strategy helped Ford navigate the tax implications and offer the Transit Connect to customers in the United States. Key Points: 1.
