The Chevrolet Colorado, in association with the GMC Canyon, comprises a line of compact pickup trucks, which have transitioned to the mid-size category with their second generation. General Motors, the American automaker, launched these trucks in 2004 to succeed the Chevrolet S-10 and GMC S-15/Sonoma models. The naming of the Colorado pays homage to the U.S. state it represents, while the Canyon draws inspiration from a profound cliff-clad crevice. Developed collaboratively by GM's North American and Brazil operations alongside Isuzu, the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon reflect a shared mechanical foundation.
