The Honda Insight is a hybrid electric vehicle manufactured and marketed by Honda. The first generation of the Insight, produced from 1999 to 2006, was a two-door, two-passenger liftback. The second generation, manufactured from 2009 to 2014, was a four-door, five-passenger liftback. The third generation, which ran from 2018 to 2022, transitioned to a four-door sedan model. A significant feature of the Honda Insight is its Integrated Motor Assist system, making it Honda's first model to incorporate this technology. The Insight gained recognition for being the most fuel-efficient gasoline-powered car available in the United States without the need for plug-in capability throughout its production period.
