It made its debut at the Chengdu Motor Show in 2023 and was further showcased as a concept car at Auto Shanghai in April of the same year. Following its initial display, the production version of the iCar 03 was revealed, marking Chery's entrance into the electric vehicle market under the iCar brand. The vehicle's design features the distinct letter "i" in its logo, which was thoughtfully crafted by Cao Xue, the chief designer at the Guangzhou Academy of Arts.
