Kia Carens UN

2002 – 2006

The Kia Carens, known as the Kia Rondo in some markets, is a compact car manufactured by Kia since 1999 across four generations. Originally designed as an MPV, it has been marketed worldwide with notable presence in South Korea, Europe, and North America. In its fourth generation, the Carens was strategically redeveloped with a crossover-inspired exterior design, specifically targeting the Indian market. Key Points: 1. **Model Overview**: The Kia Carens, also marketed as the Kia Rondo, is a compact car initially introduced as a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) and has seen four generations of evolution since 1999. 2. **Global Presence**: The Carens has been marketed extensively globally with a strong footprint in South Korea, Europe, and North America, where it has been well-received since the second generation. 3. **Strategic Model**: The fourth-generation Kia Carens was reimagined with a fresh design approach to cater to the Indian market. It shifted towards a crossover-inspired exterior styling to attract a broader range of consumers. 4. **Naming**: The name "Carens" is derived from a combination of "car" and "renaissance", reflecting a vision of modernization and evolution. On the other hand, the name "Rondo" draws inspiration from a musical term, adding a touch of sophistication to the model's identity.
