The Land Rover Series IIA is a body-on-frame, four-wheel-drive utility vehicle produced by Land Rover from 1961 to 1971, serving as the second major revision of the original Series I design. Built around a galvanised ladder-frame chassis with aluminium body panels, it was offered in 88-inch and 109-inch wheelbase configurations and powered by a range of four-cylinder and six-cylinder petrol and diesel engines. The Series IIA became widely known for its rugged simplicity, ease of field repair, and extensive use by military forces, aid organisations, and farmers across more than 100 countries. Notable variants included a forward-control version, a station wagon with seating for up to ten passengers, and numerous military-specification builds produced for armies around the world.
