Mazda 2 DH

2007 – 2014

The Mazda2, also known as the Mazda Demio in Japan until 2019, is a subcompact car offered by Mazda, currently in its third generation. It serves as an entry-level model for the brand in international markets, sitting below the Mazda3 in its lineup. Initially introduced in 2002, the Mazda2 has seen a global presence and has been well-received for its performance and design. Notably, the second-generation Mazda2 was recognized with the prestigious title of the 2008 World Car of the Year, highlighting its excellence in the subcompact segment. Its successor, the third-generation model, was awarded the 2014-2015 Japanese Car of the Year, further solidifying its reputation for quality and appeal. In North America, the third-generation Mazda2 was rebadged and sold as the Scion iA by Toyota, with variants under different names such as Yaris, Yaris iA, and Yaris R. This move aimed to increase the model's market reach and visibility in the region. Furthermore, a petrol-hybrid version of the Mazda2 has been introduced in Europe, leveraging technology from the Toyota Yaris Hybrid. This hybrid variant, sharing the same Mazda2 nameplate, provides customers with an eco-friendly alternative while maintaining the model's compact and agile characteristics. Overall, the Mazda2 remains a popular choice in the subcompact car segment, combining reliability, design, and innovation to cater to a diverse range of customers worldwide.
