Mazda 818

1974 – 1978 · Japan

The Mazda Grand Familia, known as the Mazda 808 in certain markets, was a popular automobile produced by Mazda in Japan from 1971 to 1978. Due to trademark issues, in many markets it was sold as the Mazda 818. The car was available in various body styles including a two-door coupé, a four-door sedan, and a five-door station wagon, catering to diverse consumer preferences. Powered by inline four-cylinder engines, the Grand Familia offered reliable performance and efficiency. Interestingly, there were rotary-powered versions of the Grand Familia known as the Mazda Savanna in Japan and the Mazda RX-3 in export markets. This variation provided customers with a unique driving experience and showcased Mazda's innovation in engine technology.
