Mazda Bravo UN

1998 – 2008 · Japan

The Mazda MX-5 (NC) is the third generation of the iconic Mazda MX-5 produced from 2005 to 2015. Upon its release in 2005, it received critical acclaim, winning the prestigious Car of the Year Japan Award and earning a spot on Car and Driver's esteemed 10Best list for nearly a decade, from 2006 to 2013. A notable feature of the NC generation is the availability of a retractable hardtop variant, a first for the MX-5 line. This innovative roof can fold or deploy in just 12 seconds, without compromising trunk space. During the initial years of production from 2006 to 2008 (NC1), the Mazda MX-5 NC boasted sleek exterior styling crafted by designer Yasushi Nakamuta. Notably, the NC1 model shared very few components with its predecessor, the NB, with the exception of the fender-mounted turn signal lights on international models and rear differential internals. The overall design ethos and execution were overseen by chief designer Moray Callum, ensuring a fresh and distinct appearance for the third-generation MX-5. Key Points: - The Mazda MX-5 (NC) is the third generation of the popular MX-5 line, manufactured from 2005 to 2015. - The NC generation received accolades such as the Car of the Year Japan Award and consistent inclusion on Car and Driver's 10Best list from 2006 to 2013.
