MG›3›ZP11

The MG3 is a small car produced by the Chinese automaker SAIC. The first generation, known as the MG3 SW, was based on the British-made Rover Streetwise, which in turn was based on the Rover 25. Production of the first generation began in 2008 at SAIC's Chinese factory in Pukou, Nanjing, exclusively for the Chinese market due to export restrictions. Key Points: 1. First Generation (2008): The MG3 SW is a rebadged version of the Rover Streetwise that entered production in 2008 in China. It was a result of the bankruptcy of MG Rover, the Streetwise's parent company. 2. Engines: Specific engine details of the first-generation MG3 SW are not provided in the summary. 3. Second Generation (2011): The second-generation MG3, introduced in 2011, was showcased at the 2010 Beijing Auto Show as the MG Zero concept car. It utilized a new automotive platform with a wheelbase of 2.5 meters. The car featured MacPherson strut front suspension and a torsion beam rear axle. Overall, the MG3 is an example of how the automotive industry can evolve through international collaborations and adaptations. The transition from the first generation, a rebranded British model, to the second generation with a new design and features indicates SAIC's commitment to innovation and progress in the competitive automotive market.
