The Mitsubishi eK is a popular kei car series manufactured by Mitsubishi Motors, which was first introduced on October 11, 2001, as an evolution of the Minica line. The name "eK" stands for "excellent keijidōsha" or "excellent minicar" and is pronounced as "ee kay", a play on words that resembles the Japanese phrase "いい軽" meaning "good kei [car]". Starting from June 8, 2005, Mitsubishi has been supplying 36,000 eK Wagons annually to Nissan under a collaborative agreement.
