Mitsubishi Outlander CW

2005 – 2009

The Mitsubishi Outlander is a compact crossover SUV that has been manufactured by Japanese automaker Mitsubishi Motors since 2001. Originally known as the Mitsubishi Airtrek in Japan, the vehicle was designed to transport passengers on adventure-filled journeys, with the name Airtrek symbolizing freedom and footloose motoring pleasure. In 2006, the second generation of the vehicle was introduced, and all markets, including Japan, adopted the Outlander name, which was chosen to evoke a sense of journeying to distant, unexplored lands in search of adventure. The Outlander is built on Mitsubishi's GS platform and has utilized various engines developed by Mitsubishi, Volkswagen, and PSA Peugeot Citroën.
