Mitsubishi Pajero V60

1999 – 2003

The Mitsubishi Pajero, known as the Montero in North America and Shogun in the United Kingdom, is a full-size SUV produced and sold globally by Mitsubishi from 1981 until 2021. The name "Pajero" draws inspiration from the Pampas cat, Leopardus pajeros, but due to its derogatory meaning in Spanish ("wanker"), the model was marketed under different names in various regions. In North America, Spain, and Latin America (excluding Brazil and Jamaica), it was known as the Montero, while in the UK, it was called the Shogun, which translates to "General" in Japanese. The names Pajero, Montero, and Shogun were also utilized for other unrelated models including the Pajero Mini kei car, Pajero Junior, Pajero iO/Pinin mini SUVs, and the mid-size SUVs based on the Triton, named Pajero/Montero/Shogun Sport. Key Points: 1. The Mitsubishi Pajero is a full-size SUV produced globally by Mitsubishi over four generations. 2. Marketed as Montero in North America, Spain, and Latin America and as Shogun in the UK. 3. Derives its name from the Pampas cat, Leopardus pajeros, with "Pajero" having derogatory connotations in Spanish. 4. Discontinued in North America in 2006 but continued to be sold in
