The Mitsubishi Raider, launched in the fall of 2005 as a 2006 model, is a pickup truck by Mitsubishi Motors for the U.S. market. The vehicle is closely based on the Dodge Dakota and shares similarities with the Dodge Raider SUV marketed from 1987 to 1990 - a vehicle essentially a rebadged Mitsubishi Montero. With the discontinuation of the Mighty Max in 1996, the Raider strategically filled the void in Mitsubishi's lineup.
