The Paykan, also known as Peykân in Persian, is the first Iranian-made car that was manufactured by Iran Khodro between 1967 and 2005. Initially called "Iran National", the Paykan was a licensed version of the British Rootes Arrow, specifically the Hillman Hunter model, and quickly gained popularity in Iran after its launch. The car was envisioned as a simple, affordable option for the general public by Mahmoud Khayami, who introduced the design to Iran and played a crucial role in its production.
