Positioned below the 3008 model, the first 2008 replaced the Peugeot 207 SW, as Peugeot did not release an SW version of its 208. Developed under the code name "A94," the first-generation 2008 is based on the PF1 platform and shares electronic components with the Peugeot 208. The production of the first-generation 2008 commenced and marked the first product of the joint venture between Peugeot and IKCO named IKAP.
