Polestones

Polestones is the international trade name for the automotive brand known in China as Jishi (极石), the vehicle arm of Shanghai-based Rox Motor, founded in January 2021 by Chang Jing, the co-founder and CEO of Roborock, a robot vacuum cleaner company backed by Xiaomi. Polestones Automobile operates as an EV startup owned by Rox Motor, with production contracted to Beijing Automobile Works (BAW). Rox Motor focuses on the development of self-driving systems, and BAW serves as a contractor and is not tied to Rox Motor by ownership. The brand's first and sole model, the Polestones 01, is a range-extended 4x4 powered by a turbocharged 1.5-litre petrol engine that generates electricity for a pair of electric motors, with exterior design supplied by Pininfarina. The brand was renamed Rox Motor in 2024.
